How to spot a bridging-loan scam

The clearest sign of a bridging-loan scam is a request for a fee before you receive your loan. Marlin Credit never charges upfront fees, only contacts you from the numbers on its website, and is registered with the National Credit Regulator as NCRCP327.

Sign 1: they ask for money before you get your loan

Marlin Credit does not charge upfront fees. If anyone asks you to pay an 'admin fee', 'insurance fee' or anything else before your loan is paid out in Marlin Credit's name, stop. It is a scam.

Sign 2: they contact you from a number that isn't on our website

Our official contact details are on our contact page. Be wary of messages on social media or WhatsApp from numbers that aren't listed there.

Sign 3: they can't give you an NCR registration number

Registered credit providers in South Africa have a National Credit Regulator registration number. Marlin Credit's is NCRCP327.

Think you've been targeted?

Don't pay anything and don't share your ID or banking details. Contact Marlin Credit directly on the numbers on our contact page to report it. We follow up on every report.
