Divorce payout bridging

Settling into a new chapter? Don't wait on the fund.

When a divorce order awards part of a pension interest, the payout can take a while to come through. Bridging finance helps you set up and cover costs in the meantime.

How it works for a divorce claim payout

Bridging finance lets you take a loan against a lump sum that is already due to you. Loans start from R2 000 and are based on about 10% of your expected payout, which needs to be at least R30 000. Every application is subject to an affordability assessment, as the National Credit Act requires.

You repay once, when your payout lands, and early settlement is accepted. There are no monthly instalments. You'll see the full cost of credit in your agreement before you sign. Work out an estimate with our cost calculator.

FAQ

Divorce claim: common questions

What documents do I need for divorce-payout bridging finance?

A copy of your ID, your divorce agreement and your marriage certificate. A consultant will confirm anything else your case needs.

Do you charge upfront fees?

No. Marlin Credit never charges upfront fees. Anyone asking for a fee before you receive a loan in Marlin Credit's name is not Marlin.

Will a credit check be done?

Yes. The National Credit Act requires an affordability assessment before credit is granted, so a credit check and verification are part of the process.
