Bridging finance is a loan against a lump-sum payout that is already due to you, such as a pension or provident fund payout. You take a loan against it now and repay it once, when your payout lands.
Bridging finance in one sentence
Bridging finance bridges the gap between the day you know a payout is coming and the day it actually lands in your account.
Which payouts can you bridge?
Marlin Credit offers bridging finance against these confirmed lump-sum payouts:
How much can you borrow?
At Marlin Credit, loans start from R2 000 and are based on about 10% of your expected lump sum. Your expected payout needs to be at least R30 000, and every application is subject to an affordability assessment as the National Credit Act requires.
How is it repaid?
The loan is repaid once, when your payout lands, so there are no monthly instalments, and early settlement is accepted. You see the full cost of credit in your agreement before you sign.
When does it make sense?
Bridging finance can make sense when you have a confirmed payout on the way and costs that can't wait, such as keeping up with existing commitments or settling arrears. It's still credit with a cost, so compare that cost with your alternatives, and only borrow what you need.
